NORTH ISLAND TOURS

The North Island has it's own unique beauty and truly is the Island for spectacular beaches and bays surrounded often by the rolling green pasturelands that surround the coastlines. If you head up to the furtherest point north to Cape Reinga you can experienced a little of the wild Oceans below where the Pacific & Tasman meet. There are some great walking trails here with spectacular scenery. Of course this is also the natural area for the Geothermal Activity that you can just about find in every corner of the North , not to forget a good soak in the thermal hot springs are always a must......good for the soul, not to mention very theraputic. This is also the busiest of the 2 Islands as majority of the population reside here. It is mainly the home of the Maori and you will see many a Marae scattered around the landscape. Of course this is the Island of historic wars between the Maori and the Pakeha and steeped in history with the first settlers arriving in the North. Auckland the City of Sails or "Tamaki" in Maori was once the capital for many years before Wellingtontook the honour. There is alot to see and do in the North Island and of course "Hobbiton" resting in the Waikato is a major tourist attraction after per Clarkes Lord of the Rings was filmed in various parts of New Zealand. To give the North Island time to absorb and take in it's character and beauty you really need a at least a couple of weeks here so jump on board and take a look at a few tours to wet your appetite.
